I have made several updates to the clay section with lots of new flowery clay pins and necklaces made with Lumina Clay. Lately, I've been getting back into oil painting and so have included my latest portraits. The first of the paintings is a cute snapshot from my husband's childhood, and the second is a commissioned portrait of a girl and her father.
     Oil paintings take me a while to finish, but hopefully with practice I'll get faster. To get everything placed correctly, I print out a copy of a photograph at the size I'm going to paint it and cover the back with graphite. Then I trace around objects and shadows transferring a very faint outline onto the canvas. After going over the lines so they're more visible, I slap on a few thin layers of paint to get the canvas covered before I start putting in detail and building up the paint.
